Community Guidelines Version 2.1
[Background of the Establishment of Community Guidelines]
The anti-litter social media platform Pirika was created to keep litter out of the natural world and to promote fun cleanup activities.
We have established guidelines to ensure that users can safely and enjoyably participate in cleanup activities, and manage the platform in accordance with these guidelines.
[Guide for Cleanup]
(1) For Safe Cleanup
To prevent injuries or the risk of infections from litter collection, we recommend the following:
- Use tongs or work gloves to safely pick up garbage.
- Wash your hands after the activities.
- Avoid attempting to pick up dangerous items such as injection needles, sharp objects, or items potentially contaminated with drugs. Instead, please contact local governments for assistance.
(2) Abide by Laws and Rules
To ensure safety and legality during cleanup activities, please adhere to the following rules:
- Do not enter private properties without permission.
- Avoid damaging any property.
- Refrain from using smartphones while walking to prevent accidents with vehicles or other pedestrians.
[Guide for Using Pirika]
(1) Posts on Pirika
We aim to obtain accurate information through Pirika to enhance research and address environmental issues.
We are also committed to reducing the amount of litter entering the natural environment.
In support of these goals, we ask for your cooperation with the following guidelines:
- Ensure that your posts are directly related to litter cleanup activities. While we welcome heartwarming photos and comments, they should pertain to cleanup activities.
- When posting photos, try to capture the entire litter you collected and provide as much detail as possible about the litter count or volume, the date and time of the cleanup, the number of participants, and the area of the activity.
- Avoid posting the same litter-picking activity across multiple accounts to prevent duplicate records.
- Do not include items that are already properly disposed of, such as garbage in bags at collection sites or in trash cans, as ‘litter’ in your posts.
- Refrain from recording natural materials such as tree branches, leaves, and stones as ‘litter’ on Pirika.
(2) How to Use Pirika
Please refer to(https://corp.pirika.org/en/sns-pirika/detail/)for detailed instructions on how to use Pirika. Pay particular attention to the following:

- Users under the age of 18 should consult with their parents about using Pirika before participating.
- Do not post personal information such as faces or addresses of others without their consent.
